Physical Education (PE)

Miss Ward is the subject leader for PE.
The Importance of PE in the Curriculum
PE develops pupil’s physical competence and confidence. It promotes physical skill, development and knowledge of the body and provides opportunities for pupils to be creative and to face challenges as individuals, in pairs and groups. It is also essential in promoting a positive attitude towards active and healthy lifestyles.

Our Aim at Briar Hill School
To ensure that all aspects of physical activity in school are promoted for the health and well being of pupils and staff.

Building Learning Power
Through Building Learning Power, children at Briar Hill are taught and encouraged within the PE curriculum to use their BLP capacities such as perseverance, noticing skills, imitation, capitalising and collaboration. Children are asked which learning power they are using and explain how that is developing their skills
