  • A Lovely Comment

    Mon 27 Nov 2017
We received this email following the visit to school

"Dear Mrs Padro and Mrs Jordan,

I am writing to thank the whole Briar Hill community so very much for supporting Warwick Poppies 2018. It was an absolute pleasure for us to come into school, meet the children and receive your most beautiful poppies. They will look fantastic in our display next autumn and we are truly grateful. I hope you saw the lovely photo in the Courier.

It was extra special for us to be able to spend some time talking to the children, in small groups, and they were all delightful. A real credit to themselves, their parents and to Briar Hill. I hope that they will be able to come and see the display – we are hoping that we may be able to organise a Schools’ Service.

    best wishes

Helen Fitzpatrick on behalf of Warwick Poppies"

  • Christmas Fair Update

    Sun 26 Nov 2017

The Federated Christmas Fair at Briar Hill and St Margarets is on Friday 1st December at 3.15pm to 5.15pm.

You will be able to move between both schools as you want to.

With this in mind, to keep all of our children and families safe, the car park will be locked and there will be no access in or out whilst the fair is on.

This means that parents collecting from club must park offsite and walk up to pick up their children.

There will be no movement of any cars within the 2 hours the fair is on within the car park area.

Thank you for your understanding, we are sure you want everyone to be kept safe as much as we do.

  • We Need Your Poppies!

    Tue 21 Nov 2017

Following seeing an advert in the local paper by St. Mary’s Church in Warwick appealing for poppies Year Two thought it would be a great idea to make as many poppies as they could in as many different ways on Friday 10th November. This tied in beautifully with their learning about Remembrance Day and World War One. The children persevered and managed to make an amazing 154 poppies which were presented to representatives of the church’s appeal on Tuesday morning. After hearing about why the church wanted poppies and where they were going to go in the church the children enjoyed sharing their poppies with their visitors and explaining how they had made them.

    Helen said

"The children were so enthusiastic about their topic and loved sharing with us how they made their poppies."

    Lochlan said

"I made three of the really complicated poppies. They were really tricky."

  • 'Extra Gift'

    Fri 17 Nov 2017

Briar Hill would like to support Helping Hands, a local community charity, this Christmas to help vulnerable, local children by asking those who would like to, to purchase an 'Extra Gift' for a child. This can be bought for a boy, girl, of any age between 0-16years.

Please send your unwrapped gift into school between Monday 20th and Friday 24th November 2017.

Helping Hands will then sort, wrap and distribute amongst the local community.

Briar Hill is taking part in this to replace the Christmas Shoe boxes we have collected in previous years.

We are aware of how generous our families are and would like to reiterate that there are no expectations for families to take part. We realise that you may support other charities outside of school and appreciate the huge demands on everyone at this time of the year but we feel this is a worthy cause supporting our local community.

We would like to thank you for all of your support throughout the school year.

  • Children In Need

    Tue 14 Nov 2017
For Children In Need on Friday 17th November, we are asking children to come to school in their normal uniform with something spotty to accessorise. Maybe socks, hairband, gloves, scarf, hat, anything you have. To make it easier for you to donate we have set up payment online through School Money. You can change the amount to whatever you wish to give. Thank you for supporting this worthy cause.
  • He's behind you !!!!

    Fri 10 Nov 2017

This year at Christmas we are having a pantomime company come to school to perform to the children. They specialise in performing in schools so it is a child friendly production with lots of interaction from the audience. They performed for Briar Hill last year as they had a cancellation in the area. They will be based at St Margaret's and all children will go over to see the performance. This year it is Dick Whittington. To help with the cost of this we are asking parents for a contribution of £3 per child. This has worked out cheaper than previous years as we don't have the coach costs travelling to the Warwick Arts Centre. All payments are to be made through our School Money payment system, you will be sent details by text and by email.

Any problems doing this please contact the office.
