Reception spent the day at The Butterfly Farm in Stratford Upon Avon.
They had great fun and learnt lots of fabulous facts about butterflies.
Year 2 children went down to the crossroads at Harbury Lane to watch the 2nd stage of the Ovo Energy Womens Cycle Tour.
They waited for the action to start which it did with a fantastic display from Warwickshire Police motorcycle riders as they controlled the traffic ahead of the riders. The cyclists came along at great speed followed by their support vehicles and more police!
There were lots of horns sounded, sirens blaring and light flashing!
The children, and adults, really enjoyed it.
On Thursday 17th May, we held a meeting for the current Reception parents with information on how to help their child be ready to go into Year 1.
Please follow the link to the slides from that presentation and a copy of the Year 1 High Frequency words mentioned in the presentation in the Year 1 class pages section.

Coventry Diocese is celebrating 100 years and to mark the occasion the Cross of Nails is going on a pilgrimage around Church of England schools. St. Margaret's received the cross from Bishop's Tachbrook on Thursday 3rd May.
On Friday 4th May, the St. Margaret's worship group brought the cross over to Briar Hill for a special assembly marking the occasion across our federation.
Some of our Year 2 children went to an event in London on Saturday called Destination Imagination. They had to perform in front of judges and other schools, they were amazing and so confident!
Mrs Bassett and Mrs Bridges went with them. The judges were astounded at how confident they were. They represented Briar Hill so well. Well done to them all and thank you to the staff who went with them.
We had some lovely comments from parents who attended with us, here are just a couple.
"I really enjoyed the play they acted. I was so impressed at how well my child and his team worked together. The whole experience has given him a real sense of pride and confidence."
" I think it was absolutely fabulous that my daughter was selected to experience the tournament. I really enjoyed their performance, all the children were very confident and you could notice how much effort had gone into preparing for it. Being able to create the performance as a team she was able to further develop her creative skills and teamwork."
