Keep up to date with all the news happening in school at the moment. This page is updated regularly so please check back often.
Our Full Governing Body met last night and one of their duties was to elect a Chair and Vice-Chair for this academic year. Congratulations to Richard Hawke for being voted in as Chair and Manjit Gill as the Vice-Chair.
We would like to thank Kevin Williams for all of his support in his role as the previous Chair.
We have had a few issues with the School Money Payment system. Thank you for being patient with us. It appears now to be sorted and we will resend the payment request and passwords. Families with more than one child will receive one request per child as there is no way currently of filtering this, therefore please ignore the extra one.
The children from Year 2 last year have been removed and so will not receive a payment request.
Issues with not being able to log in to your child account need to be looked at individually as they are usually linked to spelling of names, email addresses and how the childs details are held on the system. Please come to the office and we will look at your device with you in the hope that we can sort it.
Thank you for your patience and apologies for any inconvenience caused.
We will be sending out links to our School Money online payment system on Monday. This will send you a link to their site and an individual password to access your childs information. You will see the option to pay school fund straight away and other payments will follow through the year as trips and events come up. This proved to be a great success last year when we launched, very popular,
"No more cheques",
"Can never find my cheque book",
"I never have cash so much easier",
these were just some of the quotes from parents.
To make this a success you need to make sure that the office have your current and correct email address and phone number. If you change it please let us know.
Thank you for your support.
Further to the information given to all parents and carers about our financial situation, this year we will be trying not to send out letters in paper form wherever we can. This is to help save costs on both paper and the printing of the letters. You will either receive an email with a link to the school website or an attachment with the letter. If you do need these in paper form please contact the office as they will be able to print you one. We will also, where appropriate put the links on our school Facebook page. It is vital therefore that we have your email address. Please contact the office if you change any of your details.
Thank you for your continued support.
It is the end of the Summer holidays and we are looking forward to seeing all of the children in school. Monday 4th September is a training day for teachers across both schools so Tuesday 5th September is the first day back for Year 1 and Year 2 children, 9am start.
Reception children will be having their home visits next week.
Our Chair of Governors, Kevin Williams, has asked for this letter to be shared with all of the Briar Hill community.
The Summer Fair on Friday was a great success, thank you to everyone who came and supported it.
Here are a selection of images from the event.
The new School Money Payment System has got off to a good start. The majority of parents and carers have been able to make their payments successfully. Any issues we have had are related to incorrect email addresses or mixed up email addresses being tried. All details requested online must match exactly what we hold on the system for you to ensure security of your details.
If one small thing is different then it won't give you access.
Please don't give up, come and see us in the office so between us we can get you started.
This is the way forward for payments within school so we need to get it sorted, with your help.
Thank you for your patience and support in this.
Dear Parents and Carers,
please take the time to read the information in Parents Letters - Budgets 2017. It is very important and requests your action. the Federation budgets are under great stress for the reasons you will see. The governors have recently set up a working group to look into ways to save money whilst not affecting your child's education.
The Governors and Federation leadership team believe the Government can be persuaded to increase funding appropriately if all MP's understand the issues and lobby for change.
Please help us to help you and your children.
Kevin Williams and Sukie Owers
Chair of Governors and Executive Headteacher
